In response to growing concerns of COVID-19, DCP has implemented measures in compliance with provincial recommendations to reduce risk for our employees, families and children.

Some preventive measures will include the following:

SCREENING

Upon arrival, the parent/caregiver/staff member will be asked if they or their children have any COVID-19 symptoms.

Staff, parents and children are asked to stay at home if they show any signs of illness.

HANDWASHING AND RESPIRATORY ETIQUETTE

Children and staff will wash their hands upon entering the classroom and regularly throughout the day.

Children and staff will be asked to follow respiratory etiquette: sneezing/coughing into their elbow.

Alcohol-based hand rub (with at least 60% alcohol) will be placed in all entrances to the program area for use by staff, parents doing pick- ups/drop-offs, to the centre.

SANITIZATION

Program will engage in frequent, thorough cleaning and disinfecting each day.

Frequently-touched surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected, as per AHS’ Guidelines for Environmental Cleaning of Public Facilities during Respiratory Illnesses in the Community.

PHYSYCAL DISTANCING

Physical distancing will be encouraged as much as possible. When not possible staff and parents must wear a mask.

Group activities between children will be limited

No unnecessary visitors/parents/volunteers will be allowed inside the center.

STAFF TRAINING

Staff have been provided additional training specific to the new protocols provided by Provincial Public Health.

Training will be ongoing as Public Health guidelines change and evolve.
